Visiting yachts

Cuban Ledge bouy at sunset
The HYC welcomes visiting yachts, who often take advantage of the club's location at "the gateway to the Sound" for a convenient layover before proceeding on to points farther out, or on the return trip home. The club has several moorings that, for a reasonable fee, are available to visiting yachts, as well as moorings that cruising members have temporarily vacated. Our launch monitors VHF channel 72, and will be pleased to escort you to the appropriate mooring.

The club offers winter storage for its members for boats up to 30' and up to 10,000 pounds. Members are required to be present for the launching and hauling of their boats. The Club has a marine railway system with a hauling car. Members must purchase their own Jowi cradles. The marine chair will assist in selection of the correct cradle.

Greetings from your marine chair and the launch and haul gang

It is that time of year when all good HYC members prep and launch their boats and clean out the yard. The official launch season starts April 18th when the first launch goes into service. We will try to make the launch process as painless as possible but there are some rules that need to be followed and only you can make that happen.
